The Luke Sweeting Sextet, after a long hiatus, are back to combine their powers in roaring grooves and delicate arrangements.
Rediscovering hits from Sweeting’s celebrated album People and Lightbulbs, as well as forging new explorations, the six will be performing some epic melodies, interesting three horn arrangements and soaring improvisations.
Luke, who was featured in the Freedman Jazz finals 2016, is a notable pianist, composer and improviser who has recently performed with some exciting projects: the Grey Wing trio which is a melodic/improvisational band; Antipodes – an exciting contemporary New Zealand/Aussie collaboration and Svelia, a semi composed improv textural band, amongst others.
